Carolina Power Systems’ Design and Manufacture of Shipboard Electrical Equipment are Highly Complementary to Cadick Corporation’s Deep Electrical Consulting Expertise
International WorkBoat Show 2024, New Orleans (Booth #3946), Nov. 12, 2024 – BNS Inc., a strategic business, technology and engineering services company, today announced it has acquired Carolina Power Systems (CPS) of Sumter, an established provider of high-quality marine electrical equipment to the military shipbuilding industry, which will bolster its marine power capabilities. Combined with Cadick Corporation’s electrical field expertise, BNS now offers full lifecycle solutions, services and maintenance support for military and commercial across the marine electrical system spectrum.
Building on the acquisition of Cadick Corp., one of the nation’s most trusted providers of customized electrical power solutions, BNS is capitalizing on the synergies between the two companies. CPS provides switchboards, motor controllers and other control and monitoring equipment for installation on U.S. Navy and Coast Guard ships. CPS also provides replacement equipment for existing ships for retrofits and upgrades. Like BNS, CPS is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and Minority-Owned Small Business (MOSB).
“Carolina Power Systems is an ideal company to add to our portfolio of solutions and services as we expand our capabilities into the marine power market, for military and commercial customers,” said Lu Bolden, CEO of BNS, Inc. “We see tremendous growth potential when combining the strengths of our two latest acquisitions, and will further our mission to transform complex business and technology challenges into strategic opportunities for our customers.”
The acquisition encompasses all of CPS’s assets, including its full staff of 25 employees. The company will retain its long time manufacturing facilities and offices in Sumter, SC.
“Becoming part of the BNS family just felt right as our capabilities, values and growth mindset are well-aligned,” said Andrew Patterson, who has been appointed President of Carolina Power Systems, a BNS company. “We are excited to extend our business model, re-invest in the company and eventually expand our manufacturing facilities to win customers beyond the military market.”
Cadick Corporation, CPS, and BNS will be exhibiting at booth 3946 at the International WorkBoat Show, Nov. 12-14. For more information and to book a meeting at the show, visit International WorkBoat Show.
