Cadick Corp., a BNS Company, Extends Electrical Expertise to the Telecom Industry to Protect Workers

Centennial, CO. and Fort Lauderdale, FL., Aug. 20, 2024 – NCTI Inc., the premier training provider for broadband and pay-TV professionals in the United States, and BNS Inc., a strategic business, technology and engineering services company that brings diverse expertise to solve complex challenges, today announced their latest co-developed virtual training course, “Electrical Safety for Telecommunications Workers.” Based on the deep electrical engineering knowledge of Cadick Corp., a BNS company, this course is intended to protect those workers whose tasks put them in proximity to dangerous energized lines or power facilities.

The online course equips both inside and outside telecommunications technicians with essential knowledge to recognize and prevent hazards related to electrical systems. Organizations can use this training to help ensure that their workers have received the appropriate training to comply with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and industry standards, including ANSI, ASTM, and NFPA 70E.

Stacey Slaughter, CEO of NCTI, shared, “The Electrical Safety for Telecommunications Workers course is the result of the ongoing partnership between NCTI, BNS and its sister company Cadick, the nation’s leading expert in electrical safety. The new online course teaches telecommunications workers important safety concepts and procedures from wherever they are, whenever they need.  It also includes videos and interactions that bring them closer to a classroom experience.”

William (Bill) Newby, COO of BNS and CEO of Cadick Corporation, added, “Telecommunications professionals working with or in close proximity to electrical power lines present unique safety concerns that can lead to property damage, injuries, or even fatalities, which have unfortunately made news headlines in recent months. This course is designed to prevent accidents and protect workers by understanding inherent electrical hazards. We are excited to add this course to the NCTI electrical safety training library.”
