Migration success starts with discovery. What actually exists? Not what is documented or assumed, but what is running, connected and dependent on what. We have found production systems on hardware supposedly decommissioned years ago and critical applications with undocumented dependencies.
Planning translates discovery into executable sequences: what moves when, which dependencies must be satisfied before each wave, what rollback exists if something fails. Execution combines discipline with adaptability, with real-time communication and post-migration validation that confirms what was supposed to happen actually happened. What is the difference between over-the-wire and forklift migrations?
Over-the-wire moves data and applications across network connections. Forklift physically relocates equipment. Many migrations combine both depending on equipment, timeline and cost.
How do you maintain operations during migration?
Waves are designed around operational requirements: critical systems move in maintenance windows, redundant systems one component at a time with validation between moves. Our Portland project migrated 250 applications with zero unplanned downtime.
Do you handle international migrations?

How do you handle application dependencies?
Dependency mapping combines documentation review, automated discovery and stakeholder interviews. Waves are sequenced so that when an application moves, everything it needs is already at the destination or still accessible at the source.
What is your approach to rollback?
Every plan includes rollback procedures verified before any cutover. For critical systems we often keep the source environment rollback-ready for a defined period after migration.
